I’ve always been amused by the term “nun costume.” I think it is a bit of a misnomer because it’s not really anything like a nun costume. I’m not a nun, but I am a Catholic, so I’m a bit of a nun-worshipper.
I was thinking of the nun costume more as a kind of “chaperone” or “hostess” of sorts. In other words, it’s really just a short dress that you wear to a party. I think the original idea for the costume came from a “Beverly Hills Cop” episode where the detectives wear nun-like outfits.
It seems to be getting used as a bit of a term these days, but a nun costume was originally the uniform of a college student who attended a convent. This was a time when most people wore formal dresses and the nun costume was the attire of a teacher. It was a more conservative time in Catholic history than the times we live in today.
The real reason why a nun costume is so popular is because it’s so sexy and feminine. It’s also a bit too big of a change for some people, but it’s still really sexy and feminine.
This is exactly what I thought I had in mind when I began to design my costume. I really like the look of the nun costume because it’s so sexy, feminine, and sexy. There is a lot of opinion about it (such as the fact that the outfit is sexist and would make women feel ugly) but I don’t think it’s a bad idea to have some opinions on things.
