The sfbarpilots is an ongoing series for me that I started in 2009. I started the series because I wanted to share a collection of different designs and types of pieces that I was making at the time. I also wanted to share a collection of photos from my travels.
Since then I’ve been making this series for other reasons and I’m now going back and forth on this project quite a bit. I’m currently working on the next one for this collection, but with much more color and a more playful atmosphere.
It’s the same as the sfbarpilots project, but the images in the sfbarpilots are not from my travels. Instead they are from the last few months of being a designer and working on the website of a company that I had the great pleasure of working with.

The sfbarpilots is a small, but exciting addition to my collection of travel images. I am working on the next one, but with much more color and a more playful atmosphere. The colors are mostly limited to black and white, but I am planning to use tones of gold and bright blues. I think this series of travel images will be fun, and I find them to be very relaxing to look at.
I think the sfbarpilots are the best of the five that I have so far. They’re a little more intense, but don’t overdo the colors. The colors do seem to be a bit brighter in the sfbarpilots, but the black and white is more relaxed. I hope the next one is more serious and dark, because I like to keep these travel images a little more intense.

I do think they’re a little too serious and dark, and my preference would be for a lighter tone. I think the light-heartedness of the sfbarpilots is probably perfect for a vacation, with the black and white not being so intense.
