This is the third in a series of posts I’ve been doing in a variety of forms since I’ve started a blog called “Oliver Garden” on the internet. My name is Oliver Garden and I’m a landscape architect, landscape contractor, and a certified professional life coach. With this series I want to try to share some of the things that make me happy and what Im passionate about in life. This will be my first entry in a series called oliver garden survey. To be honest, Ive been thinking about this for a few years now, but it really needed to be done earlier this year.
It’s a bit of a stretch to say that you can’t be a landscape architect. It is much easier to write off a blog post than you can be a landscape architect. It’s a bit like a book that is written for the reader. If you read this series, you’ll come away with a lot of things to consider.
To begin with, the two main things I focus on in my practice is building large scale gardens for clients, and building my own small scale gardens when I dont have the money for a larger scale project. And I know this might not sound like a big thing, but it is. And I really do enjoy it.
It is true that the landscape architect is supposed to work at a level of abstraction above the client. But the landscape architect can design a variety of spaces that are not necessarily designed to fit together. Many people in my practice are designers, and they just end up working with a designer, or a client, who just wants something to fill a room. This leads them to a level of abstraction that they don’t fully comprehend.
In the case of landscape architecture, its often just the client who is not fully aware of the designer’s approach. I was talking about the idea of the client being “bewitched” about the designer’s approach before I posted this, but it is an interesting one.
It’s not a very good way to structure your life. It’s the client. You need to figure out how to build something with the client, and not the client’s own design. In addition, like many of us, you need to design your life for your client to get right.
I think that was a good example of the client being bewitched about the designers approach. The client was being fooled about the designers approach. So, how do you build something with the client? You build it. And you work to create a relationship with the client so you can build something that works for them that they are actually satisfied with.
