I found that the recipe didn’t seem to be an applesauce-based one, but I think that is because I used too much sugar. I definitely recommend making an apple sauce recipe with more apple juice to make it taste less sweet.

The recipe I found is actually rather simple: just mix the juice of two lemons, 2/3 cup of granulated sugar, and 2 tablespoons of apple juice in a 2-quart saucepan. Bring to a boil and simmer until the apples add a little more juice, and then turn off the heat. Then you can mash the apples with a fork, or mash the apples and fruit with a stick blender.

I’ve found that if you’re an accomplished maker (like I am) you’ll probably find that you can turn a doughnut dough into a jelly dough (or a paper-like dough) with just a couple ingredients. I find that using a doughnut dough to make your jelly dough is a lot easier than using a paper dough.
